Sometimes just taking the pictures is the easy part. And if I've done my job right, it may be a challenge to decide which are your favorites!

But considering a few key things will help determine how best to narrow them down. Here are a couple tips that may make your next viewing session a little easier for you: style This may seem obvious -- you'd only choose the ones you like right? -- but really think about how the style plays a role in your home. If all the images on your walls are "camera aware" (a fancy way of saying you're all looking at the camera), then we may concentrate on those types of images. But don't count out the more candid images! Going a little outside the comfort zone may be just what you need to make an image stand out on your walls. ** side by side of camera aware and candid in the same session ** display Think about how will you display them. This also ties in with your style but may actually change the way you think about your style. Let me explain. You probably wouldn't choose the image below as a 24x30" print over your mantel. **picture of Kate's feet in sand** But when grouped with other images in a set, it works. **picture of wall with grouping from beach** It's the same with an album. Album spreads (two pages side by side) give us the opportunity to tell more of a story with multiple images. So while the close up image of your son's eye lashes alone may not make it on to your Christmas card, it helps complete the story here. **picture of Jacoby's album spread** Candid images lend themselves to album design for that purpose. A story unfolds in the un-posed activities of a session. ** need spread showing activity ** price Yes, price plays a role. You can maximize the investment in an image if you find one that can be used for multiple purposes. Think family gifts, Christmas cards, large print over your mantle. In that case, purchasing a digital image may be your best option.   Bringing it all together The bottom line is this -- images are all about stories...so don't count any out until you think about the story you want to tell. That may seem complicated, but it's exactly why I'm here. I can help guide you to the the right images that fit the right style, product and price that fits.
